Although it may seem counterintuitive to place a rug in a kitchen, there are several distinct advantages to placing an area rug in this vital room! While rugs are often shunned in this work space because of the fear that they will "collect dirt," people spend a tremendous amount of time in the kitchen-mostly standing on their feet! Not only does a kitchen rug add a delightful, inviting feel to the "heart of the home," but a rug underfoot can help ease many of the common physical ailments that can result from prolonged periods of standing. If a kitchen has hard flooring, such as stone or ceramic tile, then its even more important that theres some cushion in the work zones and prep areas.
However, your kitchen rugs should be more than stylish. They should be easy to clean and maintain and hold up under the heavy traffic they may encounter. Make sure the rug you are selecting is machine washable and stain resistant, they are two key features you will want to check out. Also make sure that your rug comes with a nonslip bottom on it to ensure that you will not slip and fall on it. If it doesnt have a nonslip bottom, you may want to consider purchasing a rug pad, this will serve the same purpose. The more durable and stain resistant your rug is, then the better it will be in the long run. Each time you wash your rug, it will come out looking as good as brand new. There is one thing you may want to watch for when washing your rug however. With the dark, deep colors in most of these rugs, there is a tendency for the colors to run. It would be in your best interest to wash them separately from the rest of your laundry, especially for the first several washes.
No one knows about properly cleaning kitchen rugs, but everyone knows that they are essential for keeping their kitchens clean. Rugs for both kitchen and bathroom share equal importance as both of them are very much in use. Cleaning them, however, is not difficult at all. And if you clean them with proper care, they can be re-used. Moreover, if they are hygienically cleaned, it will save you from several diseases. Most of the rugs are washable in washing machines. They always have a tag on them; and if the tag says that it can be cleaned in a washing machine, it solves a lot of hassle. However, there are some other types that cannot be washed in a washing machine. For such types of rugs, a laundry treatment is essential. A laundry wash pre-treats the stains with a stain remover and cleans them completely. This is not possible in a washing machine.
